These window studies explore how much character sits inside a pane: the colour at its centre, the darker boundary, the uneven reflection and the dirt that interrupts it. Pale glass, red diamond panes and warm illuminated windows share the same Window Glass Shader system by 3D Tudor.
The setup pairs a glass material with an Automatic Panes Geometry Nodes modifier. Disconnected faces or islands receive their own pane treatment. Glass colour and opacity, boundary tint and dirt overlay remain separate decisions, which makes it possible to change the age of a window without rebuilding its entire appearance.
The dirt controls shape Basic, Rounded or Circular clear centres and vary coverage between panes. Surface controls add cloudiness, frost, handmade ripples, scratches and speckles. The ripples and fine bump affect shading rather than the mesh silhouette; the glass detail can use a consistent world scale across differently sized panes.
Glow is optional, with separate centre and edge strengths. It gives the lantern and windows another visual direction, although strong emission can hide subtle wear. The supplied screenshots and silent demonstrations show the modifier workflow alongside the rendered examples.
The native file contains five prepared windows and a lantern, with 59 exposed controls in the main group. It was inspected in Blender 5.2.2 LTS, and a Cycles test render of one supplied window completed successfully. The examples demonstrate a reusable pane shader rather than an automatic window-frame generator.
