One thing I kept noticing when teaching Blender is that students struggle most not with the tools - but with just moving around. They'd be mid-lesson, suddenly flipped upside-down or zoomed into nothing, and the skill they were trying to learn had to stop while they wrestled with the camera.
So I built this as a dedicated foundation module. 11 lessons, covering the viewport gizmo, MMB shortcuts, Fly Mode, Walk Mode with gravity, Numpad views, framing shortcuts, and full Preferences customisation for laptops, tablets, and 3D mice.
The sequencing was the design challenge: each lesson builds on the one before, and every control is explained with the why, not just the what.
Topics: viewport gizmo - Perspective vs Orthographic - orbit/pan/zoom shortcuts - Fly Mode - Walk Mode with gravity - Numpad views - isometric angles - Quad View - Frame Selected - Local View - Zoom Region - Blender Preferences - Emulate Numpad - NDOF/3D mouse support
